MCI 600 studio use

I owned and used an MCI 600 series for many years in my studio.
I had all the switches replaced as they started to give problems making poor audio connections.
Nonetheless. This desk packed punch and I regret very much selling it and replacing it with the Amel Hendrix just to have more channels.
I loved the fact the MCI was an in-line console and you could flip each channel from its monitoring pot for monitoring to use as your mic / line input control.
I always recorded using this set up and used the EQ in to tape and the faders as monutoring levels.
Made perfect sense to me as you could not then acidently knock the fader up or down that would have changed the level to tape if used the the other way round.
Also I could set up a perfect monitoring balance on the faders with post effects for clients to then come and listen to a playback.
A great sounding desk.
Recored the first incarnation of "Video Killed the Radio Star"
Still think it sounds better than the master version recorded at Sarm.
