In the late-1970s, I was an engineer at THUNDER SOUND and operated the OLIVE on many sessions. This board was years ahead of its time -- automation, VCA groupings on every channel, noise gates on every channel, and quad-capable. FACT: In the tape vault, there was a demo recording, labelled NEIL YOUNG, 1969. Other artists who recorded there: LIGHTHOUSE... TEENAGE HEAD...JOANN BROOKS... a male a capella group (I am 95% sure it was THE NYLONS)... RON TOWNSEND (5th Dimension) ... and I put together Q107's 1st "Homegrown Album". THUNDER also had (late-added) dual mono acoustic echo chambers in the basement. I wish I knew what happened to all of the master tape recordings that were stored in the old bank vault.
