ATR-100 half inch - utterly brilliant

We had four of these at Townhouse Studios, London. I remember them performing with literally NO repairs in the two years I was there. Absolutely the best half-inch machine you could get.


A friend now works at a studio in East London that bought one - I looked on the back of it and the Townhouse logo was still there. It was like bumping into an old friend.

Engineers used to ask for Dolby SR with these, but for me it did suck the life out of it a bit...

Lovely. May they live forever...
