Shelter Island Sound

Steve Addabbo's studio, now in midtown Manhattan, has been in business for decades. Steve, who worked as a mastering engineer at Sterling Sound, is probably best known for his early work with Shawn Colvin, The New York Dolls, and Suzanne Vega. For the many years he has been mixing the 17 volumes (so far) of the Bob Dylan Bootleg Series with Steve Berkowitz. Volume 12 won the Grammy for Best Engineered Historical Recording, and the latest volume won a Grammy nomination. Other artists in the studio include Eric Andersen, Barbara Feldon, Al Kooper, Olivia Newton-John, over 200 episodes of Breakthrough Radio, Roberta Flack, Bobby McFarren, Loudon Wainwright III, Buskin and Bateau, Richard Barone, and Leslie Gore.
